About the Client

ShelterWiz is an advanced pet management system built for animal shelters. The client needed a cloud-based SaaS platform where any shelter could create, manage, and track animals through their entire care lifecycle.

The Challenge

• Build a SaaS cloud platform where any shelter could create and manage multiple pets
• Advanced architecture for kennel management, quarantine tracking, custom searching/filtering, and reporting analytics
• At-scale server architecture with file management, storage, and multiple-redundant backups of critical shelter data
• Easy-to-use frontend for shelter staff on desktop, iPads, iPhones, and Android devices — both onsite and remote

Our Solution

• Built a custom WordPress plugin providing full 360° management of a shelter’s pet lifecycle
• Exceeded initial requirements, adding extra scope during beta to create a strong viable product
• As an AWS Partner, built scalable server infrastructure: files stored in AWS S3 with multi-edge retrieval, EC2 on-demand servers, and ongoing WordPress maintenance
• Crisp, detailed UX/UI design allowing quick and easy management by all shelter team members across all devices
• Complemented the SaaS product with a stunning brochure site for ShelterWiz’s marketing efforts
